CHOOSING A CSC PROGRAM

Thinking of enrolling in one of our Subject POSts? Find out about it from me at an information meeting:

Tuesday, March 6, 3 - 4 p.m., BA 1190

This meeting is not compulsory: it won't tell you about any secret back doors into or out of the program, and if you have to miss it we in the Undergraduate Office will be glad to tell you about program admission.

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE IS OUT

The exam schedule is now available online. However, if you ask your instructor to announce the date and time of the final exam, he or she may refer you to an official announcement rather than answering the question directly. You might think that's pretty officious and unhelpful, but it saved my bacon once. I nearly sent my whole class off to write the exam in the afternoon instead of the morning! Luckily, I just shut up instead, as instructed by, well, me.

BE A PEER MENTOR

The FLC (First-Year Learning Community) groups for next year need peer mentors -- that is, students from upper years who amuse and assist first-year students. You get paid, too.

NEW PEY OPENINGS

This year -- unlike previous years -- you can apply NOW for a PEY posting, even if you didn't do anything about it in September.

Notice that there are information sessions next week, in BA 1130:

Tuesday, March 6, 12-1 p.m.
Thursday, March 8, 12-1 p.m.

SEND IN YOUR PICTURE

The CSSU is putting together this year's yearbook, and would like to put you in it. They've posted details.

LECTURE ON "ECONOMICS OF INFORMATION SECURITY"

Ross Anderson, Prof. of Security Engineering, Cambridge University

Thursday, March 15, 3:15 p.m., SF 1105

MARCH JAVA USER GROUP MEETING

Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Rogers Communications Centre.

The posting doesn't say students are welcome, but of course you are.
