TALK ON ENTREPRENEURIALATING [You saw the word first here!] Thursday, February 1st, 5:10 p.m., in SF 1105 Kevin Talbot, Vice-President and Managing Partner of RBC Technology Venture Inc., will talk about his experiences as an entrepreneur and investor in software start-ups: "how the more technically minded among us can move into making companies of their own and why students make great entrepreneurs." WANT TO STUDY IN MOSCOW? WITH MONEY? Prestigious $9,000 scholarships for students in Computer Science The next deadline is March 30, and there's another in September. Job-posting Disclaimer I don't post obviously inappropriate jobs, but I also do not vet postings in the same way as you would expect from the Career Centre. View these postings as roughly equivalent to what you would see in a computing trade magazine's advertisements. (That's a new disclaimer. It's not here because I have particular doubts about the jobs mentioned in this issue of the newsletter.) This opening describes itself as a "co-op job", but it may be worth your while to apply for it anyway. One thing the ad omits is that they are interested in having you apply for an NSERC Industrial Undergraduate Student Research Award -- a thing similar to the NSERC awards for university work, but not exactly the same thing.
