Research Interests and Projects
In general, I am interested in management of data, information
and knowledge using computers. More specifically, my topics
of interest include
- Data Management and Information Systems
- Data modeling and Conceptual database design
- Metadata Management and Data Semantics
- Web Information Systems
- Quality Concerns in Data Management
- Data quality assessment
- Metrics for data quality
- Data mining for data quality
- Data profiling and cleaning
- Design for higher quality data
- Data privacy and security
- Application-driven data quality (e.g., marketing,
e-Business, healthcare, clinical research, bioinformatics)
- Knowledge Management
- Semantic Web
- Semantic Wiki (e.g., SMW)
My current research focuses on development and
evaluation of a goal-oriented design methodology
for higher quality data in relational databases, based on
the techniques that have been developed in goal-oriented approaches
to software requirements engineering and design (e.g., i*
and Tropos).
In the past, I have also worked on following P2P data mangagement
and knowledge management projects
